Fat Hippo was born from a love of great burgers! With our gourmet toppings and quirky combinations, our burgers are anything but basic. We’re not satisfied with serving up plain patties. Served juicy and fresh from our grills, we’re committed to consistency but we don’t get too caught up with cutlery and table manners.

This is good old fashioned, roll-up-your-sleeves-and-get-it-all-over-you-face-food.

From a small set up in Jesmond, Fat Hippo has grown into a family of restaurants and a talented team with a borderline unhealthy obsession with burgers. We constantly look for ways to deliver more than just a mouthful. Whether that’s through the size of our patties, or the finest, locally sourced ingredients that go into them.
